From Runner-Up to Champion: Jeondding Wins Evo France 2026
*The Team Vitality star defeated LowHigh 3–0 in the grand final, claiming the Tekken 8 title with Eddy one year after finishing second.*
Jeon “Jeondding” Sang-hyun is the Tekken 8 champion of Evo France 2026. The South Korean Team Vitality player secured the title in Nice on Sunday, October 11, with a decisive **3–0 victory over LowHigh** in the grand final.
The result changes the ending of a familiar story. At Evo France 2025, Jeondding reached the final but finished runner-up to Arslan Ash. Returning to the same event a year later, he went one step further and claimed the championship.
His route through Sunday’s Top 8 began with a **3–0 win over Rangchu**. LowHigh then pushed him to a deciding fifth game in the winners final. The two traded victories through the opening four games before Jeondding took the fifth, winning **3–2** and securing his place in the grand final on the winners side.
LowHigh responded by sweeping ULSAN **3–0** in the losers final to earn a rematch. This time, Jeondding gave him no opportunity to reset the bracket. His Eddy defeated LowHigh’s Bryan in three straight games, sealing the trophy in the first set. Jeondding finished Top 8 with three set victories and a **9–2 game record**.
The win also carries personal significance beyond the result. Speaking to esports.gg during the event, Jeondding explained that attending Evo Las Vegas had inspired him to become a professional player. Asked about changing characters, he described his commitment simply: “I’m focusing on trying to win with Eddy.”
In Nice, that commitment delivered an Evo France championship.
The Master+ victory also earns Jeondding a direct place in the **Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals**, scheduled for January 14–17, 2027, in Singapore.
