RED BULL REVENGE BRINGS HISTORIC STREET FIGHTER RIVALRIES BACK AT TGS 2026
Event Date: September 21, 2026
Red Bull is bringing some of Street Fighter's most memorable competitive rivalries back to the stage with a new event at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Named Red Bull Revenge, the invitation-only Street Fighter 6 showcase will take place on September 21 and feature eight players across four specially selected one-on-one matches.
Unlike a traditional tournament bracket, every pairing is built around competitive history.
Each confrontation will be played as a First to 5 set, giving the players significantly more time to adapt than they would normally receive during the early stages of a major tournament.
The first announced matchup brings Big Bird and Bonchan together again.
Their history stretches back to one of Street Fighter V's most memorable major finals, when the two met in the Grand Final of Evo 2019. Years later, the rivalry will now continue in Street Fighter 6.
Red Bull has also confirmed an even more historically significant second matchup: Tokido vs MenaRD.
The two previously met in the Grand Final of Capcom Cup 2017, a match that became part of the competitive history of Street Fighter V. Their reunion now arrives under very different circumstances, with both players having built major careers across multiple eras of competitive Street Fighter.
Tokido enters the announcement at an especially interesting moment. The Japanese veteran has just won Street Fighter 6 at CEO 2026, adding another major championship to an already extensive career.
MenaRD, meanwhile, remains one of the most accomplished players of the modern Street Fighter era and a two-time Capcom Cup champion.
That makes Red Bull Revenge more than a collection of exhibition matches.
The format gives fans an opportunity to revisit matchups that helped define earlier generations of Street Fighter competition while seeing how those same players approach each other in SF6.
Two additional matchups are still expected to be revealed before the event.
Red Bull Revenge will take place on the Event Stage in Exhibition Hall 1 at Tokyo Game Show. Spectator seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while the matches are also scheduled to be streamed through Red Bull Play on YouTube and Red Bull Japan's Twitch channel.
With Big Bird vs Bonchan and Tokido vs MenaRD already confirmed, the remaining two announcements now have a high bar to clear.
For Street Fighter fans who have followed the competitive scene across several generations, Red Bull Revenge could become one of the most distinctive SF6 events of the year.
