Street Fighter 6 is part of a major display technology showcase at Gamescom 2026 as Samsung Display strengthens its push into the competitive gaming market.
Samsung Display announced on August 27 that it is working with Capcom at Gamescom in Cologne, supplying the publisher's booth with 90 gaming monitors using its QD-OLED panels.
Street Fighter 6 is among the playable Capcom titles being demonstrated on the displays, alongside PRAGMATA, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and Mega Man: Dual Override.
The partnership puts one of the fighting game community's biggest titles inside a much broader hardware strategy.
Samsung Display is using Gamescom to promote QD-OLED as a technology not only for visually demanding single-player games, but also for competitive gaming where response time and motion clarity matter.
According to the company, its QD-OLED panels can deliver response times of approximately 0.03 milliseconds.
That number is particularly relevant to the esports market.
Fighting games are highly sensitive to display performance. Players routinely make decisions within extremely small timing windows, whether reacting to an opponent's movement, confirming an attack or attempting a defensive response.
For tournament competitors, consistency between setups can be just as important as raw display specifications.
Major fighting game events can require dozens or even hundreds of identical monitors, making esports an attractive market for manufacturers capable of producing low-latency displays at scale.
Samsung Display is now preparing to move further into that space.
The company confirmed that it plans to begin mass production of new 24.5-inch Full HD QD-OLED panels before the end of 2026.
Samsung specifically describes the new size as being aimed at esports and competitive gaming.
The decision is notable because smaller monitors remain common in professional competition.
A compact screen allows players to keep more of the game inside their immediate field of vision rather than constantly scanning across a larger display.
Samsung says several PC manufacturers are already preparing products based on the new 24.5-inch panel.
The Gamescom collaboration extends beyond Capcom.
Across partnerships with Capcom, Krafton and CD Projekt Red, approximately 180 QD-OLED products are being used to showcase games during the event.
Capcom alone accounts for half of that total.
For Street Fighter 6, being included in the demonstration is another example of how major hardware manufacturers increasingly view fighting games as part of the wider competitive gaming market rather than as an isolated arcade-focused niche.
That shift can create opportunities beyond selling monitors.
Hardware partnerships have historically played an important role in tournament sponsorship, event infrastructure and player support across the fighting game community.
Samsung Display has not announced a dedicated Street Fighter tournament partnership through this Gamescom collaboration.
But its next product is explicitly being built with esports in mind, and Street Fighter 6 is already helping demonstrate the technology to players.
For a fighting game ecosystem that continues to attract larger brands and technology companies, that makes the Gamescom partnership worth watching beyond the exhibition floor.
