TEKKEN 8 PATCH 3.02.01 CHANGES HEALTH, QUICK RECOVERY AND MULTIPLE CHARACTERS AS BOB ARRIVES
**Published: August 20, 2026**
Game: TEKKEN 8
Bob may be the face of TEKKEN 8's newest update, but Bandai Namco has now confirmed that Version 3.02.01 contains considerably more than a new DLC character.
The update went live in Europe on August 20 and introduces system-level adjustments, character balance changes, bug fixes and new TEKKEN Shop content alongside Bob's Early Access release.
Bandai Namco's full patch notes confirm adjustments to two particularly important areas of TEKKEN 8: health values and Quick Recovery.
The developer says it also reviewed individual moves that were having a particularly high impact on the competitive environment.
According to Bandai Namco, the targeted performance adjustments focus on attacks where the existing risk-reward balance was creating problems. The stated goal is to increase the number of meaningful options available to both attacking and defending players.
That makes 3.02.01 much more relevant to competitive TEKKEN than yesterday's initial announcement suggested.
Rather than functioning solely as the delivery update for Bob, the patch represents another attempt to refine Season 3's competitive balance.
BOB IS NOW PLAYABLE
Bob enters Early Access as the second DLC fighter of Season 3 following Kunimitsu.
Season 3 Pass owners in Europe gained access at approximately 1:00 AM CEST on August 20, while the general release is scheduled for approximately 1:00 AM CEST on August 25. Early Access lasts 120 hours.
Players have wasted little time preparing for his arrival.
Combo guides and early Bob material were already beginning to circulate on X before the character became playable, while the TEKKEN subreddit has moved heavily toward Bob discussions, starter guides and analysis of Version 3.02.01.
The next few days should provide a much clearer picture of his strength.
Bob's combination of movement, explosive offense and TEKKEN 8's Heat mechanics gives players plenty to investigate, but tournament viability cannot be judged from trailers alone.
THE PATCH COULD MATTER MORE THAN THE CHARACTER
For competitive players, that may ultimately become the bigger story.
Changes to fundamental systems such as health and recovery can influence far more matchups than an individual character adjustment. Combined with targeted changes to high-impact moves, Version 3.02.01 has the potential to alter some of the risk-reward decisions that have defined Season 3 so far.
Bandai Namco has also made adjustments to TEKKEN BALL, corrected matchmaking dialogue behavior and addressed a collection of character-specific issues and hitbox interactions.
The timing is significant.
The TEKKEN World Tour remains active, meaning professional players now have to evaluate both a new character and a changed competitive environment while the season is already underway.
Bob will receive most of the attention during the opening hours.
Whether Version 3.02.01 has a larger impact on tournament TEKKEN may take considerably longer to determine.
